Hall Museum is a gallery museum in the center
of historic Plymouth, Massachusetts. Through its
exhibition of Pilgrim possessions and Native American
artifacts, Pilgrim Hall tells the stories of America’s
founding and traditions in stirring detail.
The People of Plymouth
The Pilgrims were a group of people who wished to separate from the Church of England. Motivated by a quest for religious freedom, they moved to Holland in 1607-1608, and continued on to America in 1620. They were originally called “Separatists” and “First Comers”. They were not known as pilgrims until the early 1800s

Weekend Edition Saturday, November 20, 2004 · NPR's Scott Simon talks with Earl Mills Sr., Chief Flying Eagle of the Mashpee Wampanoags and author of the Cape Cod Wampanoag Cookbook. The Wampanoags broke bread with the Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving in 1621, on Plymouth Plantation. Mills talks about what was eaten at that meal.
